Time and space…

…were needed before I could even start to think of launching a multi-faceted project like Lagartija. Working as full-time support/management for a Seattle yoga studio (all through the pandemic), I had little internal space to let my own inner seeds blossom.

Lagartija was never a grand plan; I never cleared and tilled a big field to ready it for one particular crop. She was one little sprout at a time, in several distant corners of my mind, each one unique and seemingly unrelated.

With over 10 years working in the fitness and wellness world, 25+ years of musicianship, and a little time and space (read: 4 months off), I found myself ready to create and offer something of my own.

I am clear I have many things to offer the world and this is just a place to start.

Texas to Seattle…

I was born in Houston and spent the first 27 years of my life in the area. Choir at 7 years old sparked a love of singing, which eventually led me everywhere else in my life: acting, linguistics, yoga, self-discovery, Seattle, and everything in between.

A cross-country move on its own required me to grow rapidly in ways that the comfort of Houston had never asked me to. I felt had nothing in common with my new neighbors, co-workers, and friends—until I shook off layers of assumptions and broke through old boundaries and “rules” that constricted my heart.
